Biography
Shrinivas Prasad Thanedar (born February 22, 1955) is an American businessman, author, and politician serving as the U.S. representative from Michigan's 13th congressional district since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, Thanedar served as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023. He was also a candidate in the Democratic primary for Governor of Michigan in the 2018 election. First elected to Congress in 2022, then again in 2024, Thanedar lost renomination in 2026 in the Democratic primary to democratic socialist Donavan McKinney.
