Candidate Conversations: Texas House District 54

The Directory News sat down separately with the two candidates for Texas House District 54 — Republican State Rep. Brad Buckley and Democratic challenger Dawn Richardson, ahead of the Nov. 3 general election. This year’s contest is a rematch. Buckley and Richardson also faced one another for the seat in 2024.

In these conversations, both candidates were given an opportunity to introduce themselves to voters, discuss their records and priorities, talk about what they are hearing on the campaign trail, and explain what they hope to accomplish during the next legislative session.

Candidate Conversations is a project of The Directory News designed to give Bell County voters an opportunity to hear directly from the people asking for their vote — beyond campaign advertisements, mailers and sound bites.
