The Directory News sat down separately with the two candidates for Texas House District 55 — Republican State Rep. Hillary Hickland and Democratic challenger Amelia Rabroker, ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.
Hickland is seeking another term in the Texas House after first winning the seat in 2024. Rabroker is challenging her as the Democratic nominee.
In these conversations, both candidates were given an opportunity to introduce themselves to voters, discuss the experiences and issues shaping their campaigns, explain their legislative priorities, and make their case for representing District 55 in Austin.
Hear the candidates. Know the issues. Because the decision is yours.
Candidate Conversations is a project of The Directory News designed to give Bell County voters an opportunity to hear directly from the people asking for their vote — beyond campaign advertisements, mailers and sound bites.
